(BIVN) – Nine people were arrested on August 10, as sixteen alleged gambling devices, U.S. Currency and other electronic equipment were recovered from a “downtown Hilo gambling establishment”, police report.
Triple 7 Amusements, the subject of complaints from neighboring tenants, remained shut down on Friday. Police say they opened a gambling investigation into the game room in response to complaints from the public.
“At 12:50 p.m., officers and detectives from the Area I Vice and Criminal Investigations Sections along with South Hilo Community Policing Officers, served a search warrant at a game room located on Haili Street near the intersection with Kamehameha Avenue,” a police media release described.
